This jughead is dedicated
to telemarketers.
During dinner one night, a telemarketer interupted to ask if I
" ever called long distance ? "
"Yes; as a matter of fact I do. Why, just yesterday, I stood in the front yard
and called out. The longest distance that I could be heard was down the street ar Jerreye's house.
Do you know Jerreye ? I asked ."
No reply;
" Jerreye is an old mixed breed dog. He has long brown hair and long legs in the front ;
short white hair and short legs in back. So, he is always walking up hill.
Jerreye likes to sun bath in the middle of the road first thing in the morning.
He is old and stiff from walking up hill all the time. The sun warms him up to chase
the children in his family as they play.
One morning, the UPS truck parked next to where Jerreye sleeps. Jerreye ignored the truck and
settled down for a nap. The truck rolled over him !
He broke his leg and lost an eye. He 's okay, though. They changed the
the spelling of his name, though. It used to be spelled “J-e-r-r-y”
Now, they spell it “J-e-r-r-e-y-e” so, he has two eyes again.
