WELCOME
WOW ! A Ceramic Glossary ! This is like being Webster or La Rouse. Writing my own dictionary. I will try to keep it to words that we really use around the studio. Maybe, a few cool, sophisticated words that we use to impress our peers. You know, the kinds of words you use when standing around kibitsing at slow shows or gallery openings. However, there will not be many indications of how to pronounce the words. I frequently mispronounce words; just for drama. Like the ceramic term “engobe.” Potters over 70 years old; often pronounce it “on / go / be.” Anyway, have fun. If you have any questions, E-MAILme and I'll give it a go.
Of course, to find a ceramic term; just click on the first letter of the table above. The whole thing is in alphabetical order and illustrated with links to tutorials.
