Ceramic Glaze Tongs are really cool. They make it possible to dip an entire piece at one time without leaving finger prints or getting your fingers covered with glaze.

In this image the tongs are hard to see. But, actually they are hard to see from any angle.
Glaze tongs are like plyers with opposing double points.
They hold a piece quite securely.
P.S. Tongs were used to make BOWLS

Plunge the bowl completely into the glaze; give it a quick shake in the glaze and pull it out.
Turn the bowl over and shake out the excess glaze.
P.S. Be careful when using a tub of glaze. there can be GLAZE SCUM

The bowl must be set aside to dry.
This bowl is set on a wire stilt to protect the bottom from sticking to the table and peeling off the glaze.
The table in the photo has several pieces that were dipped.

The stilts get covered with glaze.
They MUST be washed off with water.
If they are not, the glaze will melt during firing and fuse to the kiln shelf.
The shelf is worth much more than the stilt. Do not risk loosing either by not washing the stilt.
