This foreshortened view of my slab table excentuates the 36 inch [ 92 cm ] wide exterior door used as a table top..
The door is mounted on a wood frame on casters.
It is built to industrial standards to handle lots of weight.
The process of explaining how to building such a table turned out to be quite an adventure.
Listed below are photos and diagrams for you to consider when endevoring to build your own table.
The manufactured tables that can be purchased when you buy a slab roller are quite lovely and adequate.
However, they are not in keeping with my philosphy of creating something from something else.

Be sure to take the time to calculate the best height for the table top.
It should be high enough for you to put heavy loads on the table without bending or lifting.
AND...Low enough to reach the back of the table without straining.

Floor space is always a premium.
We always need table space.
But, you do not always use the slab roller.
So, compromise. Build the table with an extention made from a scrap from the home improvement “bargain bin.”
P.S. Did you go to see the slab PLATTERS yet ?

The extension support ( legs ) is not attached. It can be kicked out from under the extension.
But, that has not happened, yet.
Make the extension as big and long, as your space will allow.
